A
Message from the CEO
Creating Opportunity,
Preserving Livable Communities:"ONE
Community, ONE Fight”
Welcome to the BAME Renaissance CDC website. I
appreciate having the opportunity to explain who we are
and what we are trying to achieve within our community.
The organizational culture “Creating Opportunity,
Preserving Livable Communities” has been the drive and
continuing transformation of our organization. Today, I
look with a lot of pride of what has been achieved and
the many lives that have been changed and will be
changed, by putting such faith in the revitalization of
our communities and businesses.
In an ongoing effort to revitalize and transform our
neighborhood, we have identified several new paths for
BAME; paths lined with opportunity and demanding
commitment in exchange for success. We know--all too
well--that the City continues to struggle with the lack
of affordable housing, overcrowded classrooms, and
inadequate community facilities. We also know that
growth in San Diego is occurring at a rapid pace. BAME
proposes a thoughtful, well-balanced approach to
renewal—one that engages small businesses, corporate
partners, and the community at large in collaboration
with local government. The goal being new and innovative
techniques to address age-old problems.
Marvelous things can happen when you combine a pool
of talented people, a little focus, and a lot of
determination. Every day offers a chance to find
opportunities and implement solutions. No organization
can afford to rest on its laurels. As such, our aim is
to excel in every dimension, to keep learning,
improving, and reinventing ourselves.
BAME is on schedule with its implementation of its
Senior Services Program, Financial Literacy and Home
Ownership Program, as well as its Business Development
initiatives in fiscal years 2007 and 2008. This is just
the dawning of a bright, fresh future for our community
as BAME takes its stand to create opportunities and
preserve livable communities.
A sense of cooperative spirit and special purpose is
part of what makes me feel good about our organization
and what we are doing. I am especially moved by the
attitude and commitment of the Bethel Memorial AME
Church congregation. Although we may have many
challenges ahead, I am confident that with our growing
strength, we will persevere.
Above all, it is rewarding to know that we are
succeeding because of our faith and dedication to the
various communities which we serve.
Sincerely,
Monte A. Jones
Chief Executive Officer
